Aim: To offer knowledge and guideline to crop scientists and breeders for improving structure and function of rice root system.

Presentations: Oral presentation will be presented by invited speakers only. Nearly ten poster- presentation will be accepted as voluntary papers. One who wish to present a small-poster should contact using the form printed in the next page by July 20, 1997. The topic of a poster presentation should be related to rice roots. The size of poster will be about 110cm x 80cm.

Proceedings: Summarized papers and program will be distributed to participants. All the contributors are requested to submit summarized papers (two pages for oral presentation and one page for poster presentation) to the organizer by August 20, 1997. In addition to the summarized paper, a brief summary (about 100 letters in Japanese or 50 words in English) will be required, that will be printed as Japanese summary with the program to distribute to participants.

Fee: Free, but 5,000yen for banquet.
